The fire has hit the centre of funchal, the president has said that no one should come to work in the city centre tomorrow, unless working g with the fire team.
115 fighters have arrived in Madeira to help battle the flames.
The health centre in calheta had to be evacuated and the patients moved. Still not sure if Arco Calheta has power returned.
The wind down is due to calm down over night so this should help and give the teams a better chance to control the fires.
