Glamping in Madeira

Glamping (luxury camping) comes to Madeira.

Staying in luxury tents surrounded by nature and peace and quite can now be achieved at this new retreat in Ponta do Sol, just above Praia dos Anjos.

Tents are from 65.00 euros a night and can be booked through the website Canto das Fontes

There are 2 tipi tents at the moment, creating a whole new experience for Madeira

Ponta do Sol is a wonderful street art mural richer. This colorful long mural is handpainted by the Madeiran artist Helena Sirgado de Sousa

Composition of the typical folkloric elements, Madeiran traditions and colors. Also you will notice that it includes also figures that represents the enthousaistic (young) Madeira island visitors, who are eagerly joining the play.

Festa do Santo Amaro

Santo Amaro is celebrated all over Madeira on the 15th January. This is the close of Christmas where friends and relatives get together to finish up the last of the delights left over from Christmas, also known as sweeping the cupboards.

This is the day people take down their decorations and nativity sets, and any food left over is laid on the table for everyone to enjoy.

Santa Cruz and Ponta do Sol hold big festivals marking the occasion in honour of it's Patron Saint, the celebrations will go on late into the night with plenty of food and drink, finally closing the Christmas holidays.
