Dozens turn out to thank Emergency Services.

Dozens of people have turned out on Praca do Povo (peoples square) to give their thanks to all the emergency services that have helped during the recent fires in Madeira. 

One young firefighter said fighting fires in recent days in Madeira "was difficult," adding, "It's always tricky because we want to help and we Could Not Respond to all the situations." "We are the smallest beings of the universe in those moments," he declared, concluding that "without the support of people who provided water and other things would not have been possible."
