The mountainous regions of Madeira are now under yellow warning due to strong wind forecast with gusts of around 100 kilometers per hour, said the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to IPMA, mountainous regions of Madeira are on yellow warning, the third most serious of a four-scale, due to strong wind forecast today between 10:00am and 06:00am on Thursday .
It is certainly very strong in Caniço de Baixo, but I do not think to many problems at the airport. I believe the easyjet flight from Lisbon returned back to Lisbon.
The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo due to the forecast of strong sea waves with northwest of waves 4-5 meters between 18:00 and midnight.
