As of tomorrow Wednesday 1st October the Minimum wage will be increased to 505.00 euros per month in Portugal, a raise of 20.00 euros where it was frozen at 485.00 euros in 2011.
The increase will stay in place till the end of December 2015.
The increase will be raised 2% more in Madeira making the minimum wage 515.10 euros per month.

Still one of the lowest paid countries in Europe with the highest tax (IVA) at 22% in Madeira and 23% percent on mainland Portugal, with this due to rise to 25% next year.
