Madeira Story Center in the old town of Funchal will close its doors on Friday 13th 2015.
The management have confirmed that they can not ensure their economic and financial sustainability, and regret having to close the establishment.
They have said all workers right will be protected.
The Story Center was opened on the 29th April 2005 and houses an exhibition on the history of the Archipelago, along with gift shop and coffee bar.

Doesn't seem almost 10 years ago that this first opened - times certainly flies by! Real shame that yet again another business on Madeira is closing its doors and this will mean yet more unemployment on the island. Bad news allround.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised its been nearly 10 years, I thought it had opened while I was living here, but must have been from holidays before.
ReplyDeleteThey were in talks with people connected to the Titanic Exhibit in Belfast who were going to introduce content based on that theme and the connection that the company that owned the Titanic had to Funchal. Supposedly funding was available for it, so it sounds like the owners of the Story Center no longer cared.
