US Military lands in Madeira

A US Military plane landed in Madeira this afternoon. I actually saw it fly over Caniço, very very low and circled much further and came inland much more, we were all wondering what it was doing, a pretty awesome sight.
The Boeing C -17 Globemaster is on its way to Germany and landed in Madeira as it needed medical help for one of the military persons on board.

    Wow - I bet that was an impressive sight to see this plane landing. Also a bit hairy for the pilot I imagine. We quite often stop on the top road above the airport to see the planes coming and going before we travel on to Santa de Serra. Great photos.
