With all of Madeira now on read alert for Rain, and Orange alert for strong winds, some photos are starting to be posted on Facebook of the damage the sea is already causing and High Tide is not till 8.33pm.

The photos of the latest storm damage look horrendous and I really hope the situation improves for the island and its lovely people very quickly. Madeira has had enough bad luck with the weather and fires over the past few years and it's about time they had a break from it all. I was very sad to hear about the beach at Reis Magos - we go there all the time as my brother-in-law lives just up the road. Keep safe over there and once again many thanks for your excellent blog.
