Plenty more Festivals taking place this month, and also Close of Summer parties.
Garajau Beach will hold its close of summer party, this Saturday 15th September, Tickets are €5.00 before the night and €10.00 on the night, this includes 2 free drinks. The cable car will take you down to the beach free of charge and to return mini buses are laid on, also free of charge.
Also this month is the Festa Nossa Senhora da Piedade (Feast of our lady of Mercy) in Caniçal on the 15-16th September.
The small fishing village of Caniçal comes alive with a unique procession of fishing boats which head towards the Chapel of our Lady of Mercy, then later return to the bay of Caniçal by sea.
Ponta do Pargo holds the Festa do Pêro (Apple Festival) also on the weekend of the 15-16th September. Entertainment, food and drink and music from local folklore groups will make this a lively weekend.
On the 22nd - 23rd September Santo da Serra holds the Mostra da Sidra (Cider Festival)
If you like Cider this is a good one to attend, they have different Cider's all made in the area from sweet to dry, the usual entertainment, food and procession will make this and enjoyable event.
