Flower Festival 2016

The day of the Flower Festival parade on Sunday where 18 million euros was spent, making it a very successful day.

Fantastic Carnival

I watched the Carnival from home this year, but have to say I think it has to be the best I have seen, the costumes, colours and whole event just looked great.

Fantastic Carnival

Saturday night I was in Funchal to see the Carnival Parade.

One of the best parades I have seen, the costumes and colours were fantastic, no big gaps it all flowed very well. the weather was great with it being one of the warmest nights of the year so far after the recent cold spell we have had.

Congratulations to all involved.

Madeira Carnival

A great video of the Carnival in Madeira Saturday night.

I think this year has been one of the best years with costumes and colour. 

Carnival

So the start of Carnival has already started up in Santana with the Festa dos Pardres.

Below is the itinerary for this years carnival.

For people going out to the clubs and bars Friday night is Transvestite night. 

Saturday is Carnival so glitz it up.

Sunday is Hippy night

Monday is Pajama night

Don't forget the Slap dash parade for anyone on Tuesday starts at 4pm.

Carnival

Its almost Carnival time in Madeira, 

The main dates for Carnival are the 6th - 13th February.

The Children's Carnival is on the Friday 8th February between 10.30am - 12pm, also on this same day is the senior solidarity Carnival, where 300 seniors will take to the streets between 15.30-17.30.

Friday night brings the popular transvestite night, Then Saturday we have the Main Parade at 21.00.

PLEASE NOTE

The Main Parade On the 9th February at 21.00, and the slap-stick Parade on Tuesday 12th February at 16.00 will run in the opposite direction, so will start at the roundabout where you would drive down to the port, and go straight along the front and finish just before the cable car station.
