Mountain Biking is becoming ever more popular, with professional and hobbyists.

The scenery and views are fantastic, and a Poncha stop every now and then is perfect. 

No "Fake" Poncha

I have always said that Poncha should only be made with Aguardente, Madeira's Sugar Cane Rum.

So great news today seeing the headline, Government doesn't care for Poncha with Vodka.....

The government announced that they plan on certifying Poncha before Christmas, and the drink can only be called Poncha if made with Madeiran Aguardente, and not vodka which a lot of bars use these days especially for the more trendy flavours.

Will be interesting to see if we get a different name for the vodka based drinks or will all the bars start using Aguardente????

10 nights of music, food, drink and fun along the promenade in Caniço de Baixo.

Thousands of locals and tourists enjoy the balmy summer evenings eating and drinking along the ocean front.

Local restaurants from the area set up their places to serve food and drink, and live entertainment is supplied by folklore groups and local musicians.
