Funchal Lido Closed

The newly re-opened lido at Funchal today was closed today due to strong waves crashing over the edge. Some damage has been caused by movement of the rocks, everyone was asked to leave for safety.

Some brave swimmers carried on swimming while onlookers watched.

Funchal Lido

The Lido in Funchal which has been rebuilt following damage 5 years ago is almost complete, and looking good.

Lido Funchal.

Just had some photos sent to me of the work being carried out on the Lido in Funchal. A builder friend of mine working on the site sent me the photos of the continuing works.

The new finished Lido is expected to be ready by August 2015.
