The Lido in Funchal should be ready and open later this year.
Over half the area will be fully public with access to the sea at Gavinhas side free of charge. The pool areas will be paid entry during the summer, and in the winter the pools will be emptied and the area will be fully open to the public free of charge. This will minimise maintenance costs, and allow people to still bath in the sun and use the sea access. The snack bar and restaurant will be open all year.
