Minke Whale

A Minke Whale washed ashore on Praia Formosa today caused surprise among bathers. 
The Whale was 5.3 meters in length, and martime police were in place to deal with it.
Luis  Freitas director of the Whale museum has said the Whale is in a state of moderate decomposition, and probably died about 2 weeks ago. Minke Whales are rare in Madeira waters, with only 4 sightings in the last 15 years.
