Fire Ban

 A forest fire above Camara de Lobos today which seems to have been started deliberately has prompted action for a fire ban.
For the next 6 months till end of October no fires are to be lit in mountain and non mountainous areas, this is a great shame for the many BBQ areas that people enjoy so much in the summer.

Licensing can be required from the local authorities to permit lighting a fire but I am not yet sure what this includes and where.

It seems over the last few years the forest fires which have caused so much damage to the island, have been started deliberately, so I would think this is going to be hard to control. Also unless lots of notices are put up then tourists are not going to know about this ban.
