A new 5 euro bank note will enter circulation on the 2nd of May 2013.
The new note was presented today by Mario Draghi President of the European Central Bank (ECB)
Remaining notes will be introduced over the next few years in increasing order with the 10 euro note to be next and so on.
The hologram watermark includes a picture of the Greek mythological figure Europe, which gives it's name to the second series of euro bank notes. A new security feature that stands out is the number in Emerald, which, depending on the angle of observation changes colour from emerald green to dark blue, and features a luminous effect of upward and downward movement.
